Regional Drama Festival Opens with ‘Rishte Aur Ferishte’ Performance

Rawalpindi: On the opening day of the Regional Drama Festival, organized by the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi, the play “Rishte Aur Ferishte” was showcased. The drama, both written and directed by Yar Muhammad, featured performances by well-known artists including Raja Sattar, Anjum Abbasi, Shahid Bhola, Allama Sajjad, Rizwana Khan, Zahra, and Yar Muhammad.

The narrative of the play revolves around the theme of wealth and relationships. It explores how an abundance of money can lead to arrogance and the attempt to forge relationships based on wealth. However, it emphasizes that a time comes when wealth is insufficient, and the realization dawns that love for the homeland is the most substantial bond.

According to the Director of Arts Council, the festival aligns with the vision of the Punjab government. It aims to promote fine arts and provide quality entertainment to the public. The festival will feature different stories and drama teams each day, offering audiences new performances to enjoy.

The opening performance was well-received, drawing a large crowd who appreciated the efforts of the Punjab government in organizing the event. The festival is scheduled to run until June 5.
