President Zardari Calls for Strengthened Economic and Cultural Ties with Seven Nations

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for further improving bilateral ties with Thailand, the Philippines, Slovenia, Serbia, Burkina Faso, Zambia, and Latvia in the fields of trade, economy, and culture.

During a meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari met with the Ambassadors-designates from these countries, who presented their diplomatic credentials. The ceremony included the Ambassador-designate of Thailand, Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, and the Ambassador-designate of the Philippines, Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez. Also present were Mr. Igor Juki?, Non-Resident Ambassador-designate of Slovenia, Mr. Damir Kovacevic, Non-Resident Ambassador-designate of Serbia, Mr. Mohamadi Kabore, Non-Resident Ambassador-designate of Burkina Faso, Mr. Ivan Zyuulu, Non-Resident Ambassador-designate of Zambia, and Ms. Dana Goldfin?a, Non-Resident Ambassador of Latvia.

A guard of honour was presented to the envoys by a contingent of the Armed Forces upon their arrival. President Zardari emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral trade and business relations with these nations.

The President congratulated the newly appointed Ambassadors and expressed his best wishes for their success in their diplomatic roles.
