Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled the squads for the Shaheens as they gear up for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The warm-up matches, scheduled to take place before the main tournament from February 19 to March 9, will feature three different teams representing Pakistan.
According to a statement by Pakistan Cricket Board, the Shaheens will face Afghanistan on February 14 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, with Shadab Khan as captain and Mansoor Amjad as coach-cum-manager. For the February 17 match against South Africa at National Stadium, Karachi, Mohammad Hurraira will lead the squad under the guidance of coach-cum-manager Ijaz Ahmed Junior.
On the same day in Dubai, the Shaheens will take on Bangladesh, led by Mohammad Haris with Umar Gul serving as coach-cum-manager. The warm-up matches are part of the teams’ preparations for the upcoming international event.
The squads for each match feature a variety of players. The team facing Afghanistan includes players such as Abdul Faseeh and Hussain Talat, while the squad for the South Africa match comprises Amad Butt and Imam-ul-Haq among others. The team playing against Bangladesh consists of individuals like Aamir Jamal and Mohammad Wasim Jnr.
The schedule for the matches is set, with the first game against Afghanistan on February 14, followed by two simultaneous matches on February 17 against South Africa and Bangladesh. Another warm-up match between New Zealand and Afghanistan is scheduled for February 16 at National Stadium, Karachi.
