Sumair Ahmad Syed Appointed as ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Tournament Director

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Sumair Ahmad Syed as the Tournament Director for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to be hosted in Pakistan. Syed, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the PCB, will oversee the event’s preparations and execution.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence in Syed’s abilities, highlighting his organizational skills and administrative experience. Naqvi emphasized the significance of the upcoming tournament, noting it as a pivotal event for Pakistan, showcasing the nation’s capability to host international cricket events.

Syed conveyed his enthusiasm for the role and outlined the ongoing preparations for the tournament. He mentioned that stadium upgrades are nearing completion and discussions with the International Cricket Council are progressing. Syed also highlighted the experience of the events team, which has successfully organized multiple Pakistan Super League tournaments, as a key asset in ensuring the event’s success. He affirmed his commitment to collaborating closely with the International Cricket Council to meet and exceed the standards set by previous editions of the ICC Champions Trophy.
