IICT Seminar Equips Postgraduates with Master Thesis Writing Skills

Karachi: The Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT) at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology hosted a seminar on September 5, 2024, entitled “Writing a Master Thesis: The Guidelines for Students.” The event was designed to assist postgraduate students in navigating the complexities of crafting their master’s theses, covering a range of essential academic skills.

According to Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, the seminar featured the Director of IICT as the resource person and addressed key areas such as topic selection, research methodology, thesis structure, writing techniques, and plagiarism policies. The guidance provided was intended to ensure students are well-prepared to tackle their theses with confidence, focusing on effective writing practices and correct citation styles.

Participants were also advised on the structural components of a thesis, including how to develop a compelling introduction, conduct a thorough literature review, outline their methodology, present results, and conclude their findings cohesively.

The seminar concluded with a Q and A session, allowing students to clarify any uncertainties related to thesis writing.
