Punjab to Enhance Sports Infrastructure with New Development Schemes

Lahore: In a significant move to boost sports development in Punjab, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Muzaffar Khan Sial chaired a key meeting at Punjab Stadium on Tuesday to review the progress of various new and ongoing sports development projects across the province.

According to Sports Board Punjab, the meeting focused on the preparation and approval of the PC-1 for new development schemes, the status of ongoing projects, and the handover of completed sports facilities. The discussion highlighted the ambitious ‘Khailta Punjab’ programme, under which the province plans to construct 52 new sports complexes and restore 58 existing ones. In total, 131 sports projects are slated for completion this year.

Secretary Sial emphasized the importance of these developments in fostering a sports culture among the youth. He directed officials to expedite the completion of these projects, scheduled from September to December, and to ensure all necessary administrative preparations, such as securing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) before constructing new facilities and taking control of fully constructed sports complexes.
