Nisshin: Pakistan's men's cricket team is gearing up to launch their Asian Games campaign on Monday, squaring off against Hong Kong in the quarter-final in Nisshin, Japan. After a focused training stint in Karachi, the team is poised to adapt to the conditions and vie for a spot in the semi-finals, scheduled for Thursday, October 1, with medal matches following on Saturday, October 3.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the team underwent a four-day training camp in Karachi, where preparations were tailored to the expected conditions in Japan. The squad also engaged in scenario-based practice sessions. However, their training in Nisshin was partially hampered by overnight rain and a wet outfield.

Captain Sahibzada Farhan expressed confidence in the team's preparatory efforts. "We prepared wickets according to the conditions we expect in Japan and tried to practice against spin as much as possible," Farhan stated. He emphasized the importance of adaptability and highlighted the blend of international and domestic experience within the squad, including participation in the HBL PSL.

Farhan, leading a 15-member squad including vice-captain Abdul Samad, underscored the significance of each match. "Every match is important for us. We will focus on our first match and take every game seriously," he remarked, underlining his commitment to playing in accordance with the demands of T20 cricket.

The team is supported by a staff led by head coach Mike Hesson, alongside bowling coach Ashley Noffke, fielding coach Mansoor Amjad, and other specialized roles contributing to the squad's readiness for the tournament.
