World Culture Festival 2025 Showcases Artistic Diversity in Karachi

Karachi: The World Culture Festival 2025 at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi continues to attract global attention with its diverse range of cultural events. On its 33rd day, the festival highlighted the inauguration of the art exhibition “Fading Boundaries,” opened by Sindh Culture and Tourism Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah. Accompanying him were President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah and actor Muneeb Butt.

Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah praised Ahmed Shah, referring to him as a “one-man army” responsible for the festival’s success. He emphasized the commitment of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Ms. Faryal Talpur to promoting arts and culture. “Karachi is brimming with cultural activities, and many people from around the world are here,” the minister stated. “Ensuring their safety is our responsibility. We want to show the world the positive face of Pakistan.”

Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah highlighted that “Fading Boundaries” is the seventh exhibition under the festival. He noted the presence of Muneeb Butt, who has an upcoming film, and emphasized the exhibition’s focus on young artists. Curator Farukh Tanveer Shahab described the festival as a grand cultural gathering, with the exhibition showcasing the work of young Pakistani artists.

Actor Muneeb Butt expressed admiration for the exhibition, describing it as a unique experience. He highlighted the work of an artist from Balochistan who, despite being unable to speak, conveyed powerful messages through art.

The exhibition featured works from a broad range of artists, including Abrar Ahmed, Abbas Kamangar, and Aimen Rauf, among others. The day began with the screening of the Pakistani animated film “The Glassworker.”

Additionally, musician Ashraf Sharif Khan conducted a workshop titled “Sitar in Global Perspectives,” discussing his classical music background. Theatre performances from Turkiye and South Africa also captivated audiences, with Turkiye presenting “SUBJ: MEDEA” and South Africa showcasing “Woman in Waiting.”

The World Culture Festival 2025 will continue at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi until December 7, offering a platform for cultural exchange and artistic expression.
