KARACHI: The Regional Da’wah Center (RDC) in Sindh, Karachi, under the guidance of Da’wah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), recently held a focused session on “Advocacy in Islam” for teachers and students of religious seminaries. The event featured a detailed talk by Dr. Moosa Lakhani, Assistant Professor at Bahria University Karachi.
Dr. Shehzad Channa, Acting In-charge of RDC Sindh, opened the session by highlighting the significance of the theme for scholars in religious institutions. He noted that the Da’wah Academy traditionally invites experts to discuss contemporary issues, and this event is a continuation of that practice.
Dr. Moosa Lakhani, in his address, described Islamic advocacy as a broad and multidimensional concept. He emphasized that true advocacy starts with entrusting oneself to Allah and highlighted that Islam provides comprehensive guidance for leading a life aligned with its principles. He noted that the Holy Qur’an addresses social challenges and stressed that advocates must embody justice as a cornerstone of moral excellence.
Dr. Lakhani also commended the Da’wah Academy’s contributions to academia, education, training, and research, acknowledging its role in fostering social reform.
The session concluded with participants engaging in a question-and-answer segment, expressing appreciation for the program. Organizers agreed to hold similar events regularly to continue providing guidance and support.
