Islamabad: The Auditor General of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Ajmal Gondal, paid a farewell visit to President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr today. During the meeting, President Zardari praised the initiatives introduced by the Auditor General’s office aimed at improving efficiency and transparency. He highlighted the significant role of the office in enhancing financial discipline and accountability across the nation.
President Zardari emphasized the importance of integrating modern practices, such as technology-based audits, to strengthen fiscal governance and reduce corruption. These advancements, he noted, are crucial for refining the country’s financial management systems.
Mr. Gondal provided a briefing on key initiatives undertaken during his tenure. He highlighted the implementation of impact audits, citizen participatory audits, and digitization reforms, which he asserted have rendered the Auditor General’s Department more transparent and responsive to the public’s needs.
Acknowledging Mr. Gondal’s contributions to fortifying Pakistan’s financial accountability framework, President Zardari extended his best wishes to him for future endeavors.
