UoT Seminar Explores Role of NAB and Students in Anti-Corruption Efforts

Turbat: The University of Turbat (UoT), in partnership with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan, hosted a seminar on January 24, 2025, focusing on the significance of NAB’s legal framework and the role of students in combating corruption. The event, held at UoT’s Law Faculty, brought together key figures from NAB, academia, and the student community to discuss strategies for promoting accountability and transparency.

According to a statement by University of Turbat, notable attendees included Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of UoT; Dr. Muzaffir Hussain, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Ijaz Ahmed, Director of Public Relations at UoT; Mehmood Amir, Chairperson of the Law Department; and Asif Ali, Assistant Director of Public Relations, Information Department.

During the seminar, Haroon Rasheed, Director of NAB (B) Sub Office Gwadar, Khalid Hussain, Special Prosecutor, and Waleed Farman, Assistant Director of NAB Sub Office Gwadar, along with UoT’s Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Law Faculty, underscored NAB’s role in investigating and prosecuting corruption. They highlighted the necessity for student engagement in fostering integrity and transparency in society. The seminar served as an interactive platform for students to engage with NAB officials and gain insights into anti-corruption operations and initiatives.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hasan, in his concluding remarks, expressed gratitude to the NAB Gwadar team for their efforts and encouraged continued collaboration between NAB and UoT. He announced plans to integrate NAB laws into the LLB curriculum, reinforcing UoT’s dedication to raising awareness about social issues, including corruption, and motivating students to become proactive in promoting accountability and transparency.
