University of Sindh to Celebrate 77th Independence Day with Grand Festivities

Jamshoro: The University of Sindh Jamshoro and its campuses across the region are set to commemorate Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with elaborate ceremonies and events. The main celebration, featuring the hoisting of the national flag, will take place at the Hyder Bakhsh Jatoi Pavilion, with a schedule packed with cultural programs and patriotic displays.

According to University of Sindh, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, will preside over the flag hoisting ceremony. The event is organized following directives from the University’s Registrar, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jariko, who has coordinated with various university departments and campuses to ensure thorough preparations for the day. The registrar’s office has communicated with PVs, Focal Persons of all campuses, Deans, Heads of Teaching and Administrative Departments, and other key figures to orchestrate the celebrations.

The celebrations will begin at 9:20 AM with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Nazar Hussain Chandio, a lecturer at the Institute of Languages. This will be followed by a performance of a Naat, after which the national flag will be hoisted at 9:30 AM by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kalhoro, alongside the registrar and other academic and administrative officials. Sindh University’s security forces will salute the flag in a ceremonial tribute.

Additionally, the event will feature a flag march on the grounds of the Hyder Bakhsh Jatoi Pavilion, symbolizing national pride and unity. Sweets will be distributed to mark the joyous occasion. Dr. Ghazala Panhour, Director of the Bureau of Stags, has extended an invitation to all teachers, officers, employees, and students to participate actively in the day’s events, emphasizing the importance of full engagement in the Independence Day celebration.
