Lahore: A delegation of top UK medical experts, including Dr. Sarah Clarke, former President of the Royal College of Physicians in London, and Dr. Sebastian Alexander, visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to explore the facility’s advanced maternal and child health services. Accompanied by Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, the group inaugurated a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit equipped with over 24 ventilators.
According to Fatima Jinnah Medical University – Lahore, the delegation toured the Mother and Child Block, reviewing its departments and operational capabilities. They also participated in a workshop on VPD Surveillance at the hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.
The visit highlighted the state-of-the-art facilities at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, with Dr. Clarke praising the vision behind the hospital’s advanced neonatal care. Dr. Alexander commended the accessibility of high-quality health services in Pakistan, expressing interest in leveraging these facilities for further collaboration.
The tour concluded at Lahore College for Women University, where the delegation met with Prof. Uzma Qureshi, Vice Chancellor. They discussed international innovation, expansion of the Business Incubation Centre, and professional development opportunities.
Vice Chancellors from both institutions, alongside senior faculty members, exchanged souvenirs as a gesture of goodwill and ongoing partnership. The day ended with a dinner meeting attended by prominent local and international figures in healthcare and education.
