Lahore: The University of Central Punjab has announced that its B.Sc. programs in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering have been granted a two-year reaccreditation by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) at Level-II under the Washington Accord. This significant development was confirmed following a PEC visit conducted from January 27 to January 28, 2025.
The reaccreditation applies to the intake batches of 2021 and 2022, signifying the university’s adherence to Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). The recognition elevates the status of UCP graduates, aligning their degrees with those from Washington Accord signatory countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
The reaccreditation process underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining educational standards that meet international benchmarks. The outcome ensures that graduates from these programs are equipped with qualifications that are recognized globally, enhancing their prospects in the international job market.
