Chitral, November 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):A two-day training workshop on Biorisk Management was organized by the Association for Biorisk Management (ABM) Pakistan at the University of Chitral. The training was organized for faculty members and laboratory staff of the Departments of Zoology and Botany. Dr. Zakir and Dr. Arshad Jaffar from ABM facilitated the training as resource persons. The participants expressed their appreciation to the trainers and their pleasure to benefit from the training sessions, which aimed at improving biosafety and security in biological laboratories.
The concluding session of the training was presided over by Dr. Zahir Shah, Vice Chancellor University of Chitral. Dr. Zahir Shah appreciated the role of ABM in enhancing laboratory biosafety and biosecurity through continuous efforts in the regions. He also assured his continuous support in arranging such joint activities to promote safe research culture in the region. Concluding the training, Mr. Shah Fahad Ali Khan, Head of the Zoology Department, thanked the ABM team and implored their support and commitment to future activities with the University of Chitral.
