The Chairperson PHEC applauds UOL and graduates on their well-deserved success

Lahore, March 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): Prof Dr Shahid Munir (Chairperson Punjab, HEC) as a guest of honour at the 13th convocation applauded all parents and teachers for investing so much money, effort, and time in building up the future pillars of the country – the youthful students.

“The most appreciable thing that I have noticed today is the increased number of female graduates. In countries like Malaysia and Turkey, females are almost everywhere. It is what I am seeing here today,” he said. According to Dr Munir, women played an instrumental role in the formation of Pakistan and in the history of Islam; Hazarat Khadija (RA) also laid the foundation for the mission of Islam when she stood firm with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in every step of life.

“Hazrat Khadija (RA) was an entrepreneur and a prosperous business lady. I therefore request all the female graduates not to waste their degrees because their parents and teachers have invested in them. Do not sit at home idly; come out and serve the nation and contribute to Pakistan’s economy,” he added.

“Convocation is the most important day in a student’s life; you have waited for this day for so long, your parents have struggled a lot, and after a struggle of so many years you have succeeded in getting a degree. From now onwards you will start your professional career. I congratulate you all on this big day,” he told the students.

He called upon universities to train the students to become excellent citizens, both academically and morally. “Always remember that without character, human beings are only dead bodies and nothing else. Anyone with a degree should be morally and ethically upright and should always speak the truth, even if the truth goes against them,” he advised. Dr Munir asked the graduates to remain good ambassadors of the university, exhibit hard work, and go the extra mile in assisting the needy and the poor.
