Karachi, May 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): US Consulate Political Officer, Ronald Rinehart called on President of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Women’s Wing and Chairperson of Sindh Assembly Standing Committee on Home Affairs Faryal Talpur today at Zardari House Karachi. Faryal Talpur thanked the US government and USAID for their continued support to the Government of Sindh in the areas of education, health and governance and hoped that such support would be extended to other areas, including climate change. Preference will be given. Due to climate change, Sindh province was the worst affected by last year’s disastrous rains and floods.
Faryal Talpur also emphasized on the issue of the extraordinary increase in the number of malnourished children in Sindh due to floods and appealed for more cooperation from the international community to support the ongoing efforts of the Sindh government in this regard. Talking about the delivery of services by the local governments and its results, he said that due to the effective performance of the Sindh government, the Pakistan People’s Party won the recent local elections in the province with a huge majority. And has emerged as the largest party in Karachi for the first time. He said that the next mayor of Karachi will be Jayala of PPP, as already announced by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Talking about the ongoing digital census in the country, he said that for effective planning and delivery of better services to the people, transparency and uniformity in census is very important and such grievances should be redressed through modern technology. Talking about the electoral and governance reforms introduced by the PPP, he said that under the historic 18th Amendment, roles and timelines for consensus on caretaker governments at both the federal and provincial levels were clearly defined. are fixed, and there is no room for panic or confusion in this regard.
People’s Party Sindh President Nisar Ahmad Khoro, Sindh Labour Minister Saeed Ghani, Sindh Adviser on Law Murtaza Wahab, Sindh Assembly Member Sohail Anwar Sial and Sindh Parliamentary Secretary Health Qasim Soomro attended the meeting.
