Islamabad, June 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):A meeting of the “Supervisory Committee on Canteen, Shops and Other Commercial Setups” was here at the new campus under the Chairmanship of Vice President (A and F) Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani. The house discussed various agenda items as per mandate of the committee. The committee with the consent of the chair agreed that in order to make canteen, shops and commercial setups attractive and quality assured, facilitation and service based approach shall be adopted rather than thinking with the business point of view.
The meeting discussed the matter of retendering for the better response to bring the quality food chains and vendors as well as matter of subsidized rants and utility bills charging/ costing to the vendors were also discussed. It was recommended that, university, in lieu of getting best service in subsidized rates and with best food quality, can revisit its rents of the food set ups and their tarrif of utility bills. It said it will help in getting quality food, subsidized cost and best services for students and employees.
It also made recommendations of rates and cost of various matters including photocopier machines, their rents and the existing rates being implemented. The Chairman formed a sub-committee with directions that it would submit report on the subsidized rents and utility bills in addition to the recommendation on the existing rates at various set ups such as photocopying machines, not later than two weeks.it was agreed that university standards of food and living shall be made according to the international standards and contemporary needs.
The Vice President opined that the university is keen to provide best quality food, living set up and best environment at the campus, and in the light of the vision of Worthy President IIUI, no stone shall be left unturned in pursuit of the provision of best services and facilities to the students community.
