SMIU Celebrates 140th Foundation with New Coffee House and Renovation Initiatives

Karachi: Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), inaugurated a new Coffee House on the university’s campus as part of the closing events for the 140th foundation day celebrations. The Coffee House aims to enhance the university’s facilities while honoring its rich heritage.

According to Sindh Madressatul Islam University, the inauguration highlighted ongoing efforts to preserve and beautify the historic campus, including the renovation of the 124-year-old Talpur House and plans for the Main Building, where Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, was educated. The Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of maintaining the university’s historical buildings, which date back to the British era, and commended the Endowment Fund Trust, Sindh for their renovation efforts.

The event also featured a table tennis tournament organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs and Counselling, celebrating both the university’s legacy and its vibrant student life. Dr. Sahrai emphasized the Coffee House’s role in providing a necessary space for students and staff, marking another milestone in SMIU’s commitment to both preserving its past and catering to the needs of its current community.
