Shia Leader Announces 14-Point Code for Muharram Observance, Emphasizes Peace and Security

Rawalpindi: Allama Hussain Maqdisi, the head of Tehreek Nafas Fiqh Jafaria (TNFJ), announced a comprehensive 14-point code of mourning for Muharram-e-Haram, emphasizing the importance of peace and humanity. During a press conference at the headquarters of Maktab Shia Ali Masjid, Maqdisi highlighted the eternal sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain and called for the establishment of a Muharram control room to coordinate with TNFJ.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, Maqdisi addressed media representatives, outlining the need for fool-proof security measures and special relief desks for pilgrims. He also stressed that the ban on gatherings and mourning inside the four walls is unacceptable, urging the Punjab government to facilitate mourners. Maqdisi emphasized that the banned parties spreading hatred on social media must be addressed, and peace committees should be cleared of such elements to prevent chaos.

Maqdisi’s 14-point code includes the full implementation of the National Action Plan, ensuring the security of gatherings and processions, and avoiding provocative speeches by preachers. He also called for an economic action plan to address the country’s deteriorating economy. He urged political parties to avoid activities during Muharram and to focus on national unity and security.

The head of TNFJ reiterated the need for cooperation between the police, administration, and volunteers in ensuring the safety of Muharram processions. He called for the immediate reporting of suspicious activities to the authorities and stressed the importance of maintaining the sanctity of mourning for Imam Hussain.
