Rector at NUST Discusses Peace Strategies with International Delegates

Islamabad: In a recent interactive dialogue with allied officers from various countries studying at Command and Staff College Quetta, Rector of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif explored the challenges and strategies for achieving sustainable peace in South Asia.

According to a statement by National University of Sciences and Technology, the session, which took place at the NUST Centre for International Peace and Stability (CIPS), featured a comprehensive discussion on the complexities of both inter-state and intra-state conflicts. The event, held on February 10, 2025, encouraged participants to consider the prospects of peace and the potential for conflict in the region.

During the dialogue, Dr. Latif posed critical questions, asking whether historical conflicts could genuinely yield lasting peace. He emphasized the need for alternative approaches to conflict resolution and highlighted NUST-CIPS as a key institution dedicated to promoting dialogue and understanding the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
