Punjab University Hosts Webinar on “Collective Flourishing” in Social Development

Lahore: The Sugra Begum Center for Education Policy and Development at Punjab University hosted an international webinar on Thursday, bringing together esteemed social science scholars to discuss the concept of “collective flourishing” and its impact on societal progress. The event, which included faculty members and students in virtual attendance, featured speakers from renowned institutions.

According to University of the Punjab, Dr. Irum Khalid, Dean of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Punjab University; Dr. Abraham Francis from James Cook University, Australia; and Dr. Sara Rizvi Jafree from Forman Christian College (FCC) led the discussions. They underscored the role of unity, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in fostering societal well-being, highlighting that social justice, education, and community empowerment are essential to creating environments where individuals and communities can thrive together.

The speakers explored the interconnected nature of human well-being, emphasizing that collective efforts toward shared goals can help uplift marginalized groups, reduce inequalities, and promote social cohesion, which is essential for sustainable development.
