Punjab University Hosts Ceremony for International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Lahore: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized the collective responsibility of integrating children with special abilities into society during a ceremony organized by the Punjab University Child Welfare Center (CWC) to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Waheed Shaheed Hall.

According to University of the Punjab, the event featured various stakeholders, including Acting Director IER Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum Chaudhry, Principal Child Welfare Center Dr. Ayesha Wajihullah, and Shahid Lone, Chairman of the Allah Walay Trust, among faculty members, students, and their parents. Special children showcased their talents through tableaus, earning applause from the audience.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali commended the event’s organization and acknowledged the crucial role of teachers and parents in enhancing the skills of special children. He highlighted Punjab University’s longstanding commitment to education and pledged further efforts to integrate children with special abilities into regular classes. Dr. Ayesha Wajihullah reiterated the institution’s dedication to recognizing and nurturing the unique abilities of special children, ensuring their active participation in society.
