Punjab Government Seeks 20% Increase in College Admissions, Enhances Student Transport

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the Higher Education Department to boost the admissions of male and female students by 20% across all public colleges in the province and to enhance their travel arrangements.

According to Indus Hospital and Health Network, Secretary of Higher Education Farrukh Naveed, along with Additional Secretary Muhammad Azam and DPI Colleges Dr. Syed Ansar Azhar, have initiated several measures to meet these directives. These actions include the organization of continuous district-level meetings, engaging principals from all male and female colleges, and daily visits to colleges by committees of education officers to ensure compliance and implementation of the new policies.

The department has mandated all college principals to actively promote the increased admission target through various means such as displaying posters and banners and utilizing social media platforms. Additionally, to support the travel needs of students, instructions have been issued for the provision of electric motorcycles at colleges and enhancing other transportation facilities.
