LAHORE, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood inaugurated the 17th national hands-on training workshop on ‘Organic Beekeeping Practices’ at the Punjab University Institute of Zoology. The event was attended by VC University of Baltistan Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Director Institute of Zoology Prof Dr Nabila Roohi, Director ORIC Prof Dr Shakil Ahmad, Incharge Honey Bee Research Garden Dr Abdul Majid Khan, and numerous researchers, faculty members, and students.
According to University of the Punjab, Dr Khalid Mahmood emphasized Pakistan’s abundant natural resources and their potential to boost the economy. He highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration between the university and beekeepers to increase exports related to bee products. The workshop, scheduled to continue until November 14, 2023, aims to focus on the production of organic honey bee products and value addition to enhance future entrepreneurship and exports in Pakistan.
