KARACHI, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders Sharjeel Inam Memon and Saeed Ghani, during a press conference at Bilawal House’s Media Cell, expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the upcoming general elections across Pakistan. Sharjeel Inam Memon, the in-charge of Digital Media for the PPP and former information minister of Sindh, along with Saeed Ghani, President of PPP Karachi Division, highlighted the party’s recent success in local body by-elections as a sign of continued public support.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the leaders stated that the PPP is the only party ready for the elections, while other parties seem to be avoiding them. They emphasized the PPP’s vision of uniting the nation and predicted a strong performance in Karachi in the next general election.
The press conference also addressed concerns regarding the freezing of development funds in Sindh by the Election Commission of Pakistan and the caretaker governments. Memon and Ghani criticized this decision, arguing that it hampers public welfare and that neither the ECP nor caretaker governments possess the authority to halt such projects.
Furthermore, the leaders recalled the historical contributions of the PPP, such as the nuclear program initiated by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor visioned by President Asif Ali Zardari. They praised Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for presenting a strong case for Pakistan internationally and exposing Indian Prime Minister as the “Butcher of Gujarat.”
The conference concluded with a strong condemnation of the ongoing violence in Gaza by Israel, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
