Islamabad, At a recent workers’ convention in Mardan, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the party’s commitment to democracy, social welfare, and economic recovery. Addressing the attendees, he expressed gratitude for the successful organization of the event and promised more public gatherings in the Mardan division once the election schedule is announced.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reaffirmed the PPP’s longstanding service to the people of Pakistan, particularly the downtrodden, and its commitment to democratic values and social justice. He recalled the legacy of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in empowering citizens through the right to vote and implementing significant policies like land ownership reforms. He also paid tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for her decades-long struggle for people’s rights against dictatorships. Chairman Bilawal highlighted President Zardari’s role in restoring democracy and implementing the Benazir Income Support Programme, aimed at combating poverty and empowering women. He urged the strengthening of this program to benefit more people. Addressing the current economic challenges, Chairman Bilawal stressed the importance of a PPP victory in the upcoming elections to establish a government representing farmers, laborers, and the youth. He also emphasized the need to end traditional politics and focus on present and future challenges, upholding the PPP’s principles of manifesto, ideology, and discipline. Chairman Bilawal called for unity within the party to overcome challenges and highlighted the PPP’s commitment to ending the politics of hatred and division. He affirmed the PPP’s focus on fighting poverty, price hikes, and unemployment, and declared that the next government would represent the party’s youth and grassroots supporters.
