Lahore, 11 Oct 2023:Mr Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, has announced his impending travel to India, slated for tomorrow, with the intention to witness the riveting fixture between Pakistan and India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 14th October. The decision follows the successful acquisition of visa approvals for Pakistani media personnel covering the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, a development that materialized after Ashraf’s discussions with the foreign office regarding earlier visa delays. Demonstrating support and reflecting national sentiment, Ashraf commended the Pakistani team’s performance and emphasized the unified backing of the PCB and the nation throughout the World Cup journey.
Ashraf expressed his pleasure over the recent progress, especially in facilitating media coverage by ensuring that Pakistan’s journalists could secure visas for the monumental sporting event. “I am happy that my conversation with the foreign office helped in achieving a positive development regarding the visa delay,” Ashraf commented. He exuded satisfaction and encouragement regarding the Pakistani cricket team’s performance in the World Cup thus far, acknowledging the consecutive victories in the matches.
With the aim to bolster the team’s morale and extend hands-on support, Ashraf’s visit to India is also imbued with an intent to deliver a motivational message to the team ahead of their clash with India. “I am traveling to India to motivate the team, and my message to them before the India contest will be to play fearlessly as they have been playing throughout the event,” conveyed Ashraf, echoing the support and expectations of the PCB management committee and Pakistani cricket enthusiasts across the globe.
