Pasban Democratic Party Criticizes Karachi’s Transport and Infrastructure Woes

Karachi: Tariq Chandiwala, the Chief Organizer of the Pasban Democratic Party Karachi, voiced significant concerns over the city’s crumbling infrastructure and inefficient public transport system, questioning the local administration’s preparedness and responsiveness to recurrent issues exacerbated by seasonal rains.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Chandiwala criticized the local authorities, particularly questioning Murtaza Wahab’s actions before and during the monsoon season, pointing out that while other cities like Tulahor, Pindi, and Islamabad also experience rains, Karachi’s roads uniquely deteriorate. He highlighted the city’s status as one of the worst globally for public transport, underscoring the tragedy of such neglect in a mega-city where modern transport systems are crucial.

The party’s statement calls for immediate action to improve transportation infrastructure, including the extension of the Green Line project and the activation of the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR). It emphasizes the necessity of removing bureaucratic hurdles to facilitate these projects and suggests implementing public-private partnerships to advance modern mega transport projects. The party’s sharp critique points to a disconnect between the governing elites’ priorities and the developmental needs of Karachi’s population.
