NUST Engages Experts in Dialogue on Disability Resource Centre and Upcoming Summit

Islamabad: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) recently hosted a consultation session aimed at laying the groundwork for the NUST Disability Resource Centre (NDRC) and planning the forthcoming Assistive Technology and Inclusion Summit (ATIS).

According to a statement by National University of Sciences and Technology, the event, held on January 17, 2025, was a collaborative effort by NUST’s Sustainability Office alongside STEP and PEDO. The session brought together a diverse group of participants, including experts, academics, and professionals from NGOs, INGOs, and government sectors. Discussions focused on disability inclusion, the development of the NDRC, and the integration of assistive technology into strategies for disaster preparedness.

Participants engaged in meaningful dialogues to explore steps that could advance inclusive policies and enhance the use of assistive technologies. The discussions aim to inform the upcoming Assistive Technology and Inclusion Summit, scheduled for April 2025. The summit is expected to build on the momentum generated by the consultation session, furthering the dialogue on these critical issues.
