NUST Awarded British Council Grant for Disability Inclusion Project

Islamabad: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has been awarded a British Council Disability Inclusion Partnerships (DIP) Grant, joining a consortium with Coventry University and Manchester Metropolitan University. The collaborative effort has secured a £25,000 grant aimed at advancing disability inclusion in higher education.

The project, titled “Learning4All – A Framework for Disability Inclusion in Research and Education,” involves significant contributions from Dr. Sara Baber Sial and Dr. Alison Halford of Coventry University, alongside Co-Principal Investigators Dr. Nabeel Anwar from NUST, Dr. Farah Rashid from NUST School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Dr. Fayyaz from Manchester Metropolitan University. The consortium also includes six associated partners from Pakistan’s national centers.

NUST is one of only five recipients of the grant across four countries. The project aims to deliver a high-level study, develop co-created inclusion principles, and create disability-inclusive curriculum resources. It will also focus on capacity-building through training of trainers (TOT) to enhance gender-sensitive inclusivity.

This grant emphasizes NUST’s dedication to fostering global partnerships and promoting inclusive education within the academic community.
