More than half (58%) Pakistanis sometimes give their children money to buy lunch from the school canteen: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, December 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, more than half (58%) Pakistanis sometimes give their children money to buy lunch from the school canteen.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country who have school-going children in their household was asked the following question regarding, “Please tell us whether you sometimes give your children money to buy lunch from the school canteen?” 58% said yes while 42% responded no.

A follow up question was then asked to those who responded ‘yes.’ The question was: “How much money do you give?” In response, 25% said up to Rs.10, 30% said they give Rs. 11-20, 12% responded Rs. 21-30, 1% said Rs. 31-40, 22% responded Rs. 42-50, 7% said Rs. 91-100 while 2% said they give more than Rs.100.

Question: “Please tell us whether you sometimes give your children money to buy lunch from the school canteen?”
