Lahore: A hands-on workshop focusing on the transportation of critically ill patients was held at Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU), spearheaded by the Pulmonology and Critical Care Department. The event, which took place on November 7, 2024, was led by Dr. Waqas Gondal, Head of the Department.
The workshop drew notable figures, including the Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, who attended as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Prof. Abdul Hameed, Principal of FJMU, and Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Chairperson of the Medicine Department and Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
The workshop targeted faculty members, postgraduate residents from the pulmonology and medicine departments, and medical officers from the intensive care unit. Participants engaged in discussions and hands-on practice covering the safe transfer of patients within and between hospitals, as well as air ambulance transfers.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Khalid Masud Gondal emphasized the importance of such workshops in enhancing healthcare provision and updating the skills of young doctors and postgraduate residents. He commended the Pulmonology and Critical Care Department for organizing a successful event.
