Lahore: Students from the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) secured second place at the prestigious Engineering Innovation Awards, held in conjunction with the Pakistan Auto Show by the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM). The students’ project, titled “Design and Fabrication of a 5-Axis CNC Milling Machine,” was recognized for its technical sophistication and innovation.
According to University of Central Punjab, the award-winning project emerged as one of the top entries among nearly 45 submissions from universities across Pakistan. The team received a cash prize of PKR 75,000, marking a significant achievement that underscores both the students’ expertise and the Mechanical Engineering Department’s commitment to fostering professional and technical skills in its graduates.
This recognition highlights the university’s focus on hands-on learning and advancing engineering education through practical innovation, preparing students for impactful contributions in the engineering field.
