Jamia Poonch to Collaborate on Clean Water Initiative in Rawalkot

Rawalkot: Jamia Poonch has committed to supporting efforts to provide clean water to the citizens of Rawalkot. This assurance was given by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir during a meeting with the social organization “Lok Sangi,” where concerns regarding polluted water and its health risks were discussed.

According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the Lok Sangi delegation, led by socio-political leader Ejaz Siddiqui, sought technical support from Jamia Poonch to address the city’s water pollution issues. The delegation highlighted the ongoing efforts of Lok Sangi and emphasized the potential role of the university’s Department of Environmental Sciences in offering technical assistance.

Professor Zakir affirmed Jamia Poonch’s status as a key stakeholder in the community and instructed the Department of Environmental Sciences to collaborate closely with local entities. Emphasizing the health threats posed by polluted water, he called for the creation of a comprehensive road map to ensure the success of these initiatives. The meeting was attended by Additional Registrar Professor Dr. Abdul Khaliq, Professor Dr. Imtiaz Hussain, and other faculty members.
