Iqbal Book Corner to Enhance Scholarly Access at Punjab Assembly

Lahore: The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, has declared the creation of an Iqbal Book Corner in collaboration with the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of the International Islamic University Islamabad. This initiative aims to provide legislators, researchers, and visitors with access to resources on the works and contributions of Allama Iqbal.

During a meeting held at the Punjab Assembly Secretariat, Additional Director of IRD, Nasir Farid, provided an overview of the Institute’s academic activities, including their publications and projects. These efforts focus on promoting Allama Iqbal’s thought and philosophy, interfaith dialogue, and social research. As part of the briefing, Mr. Farid presented the IRD’s recently published bibliographic work, which compiles significant literature on Iqbal’s life.

The Speaker acknowledged the IRD’s efforts in encouraging scholarly engagement with Iqbal’s ideas. He highlighted the necessity of introducing such initiatives to the younger generation. He also instructed that a designated area be established within the Assembly premises to house IRD’s publications and related materials.

The establishment of this Iqbal Book Corner is expected to serve as a valuable resource for those interested in exploring the legacy of one of the most influential figures in the region’s intellectual history.
