Islamabad: The President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad alAhmed, emphasized the importance of community welfare and student-centric governance during his visits to the Jamia Mosque and the Student Facilitation Centre at the university’s new campus on Wednesday.
During the mosque visit, Dr. alAhmed was briefed by Dr. Inam ul Haq, Director Administration and Works, on the mosque’s current infrastructure and its challenges. Dr. alAhmed underscored the necessity of a fully functional mosque for daily prayers and Friday congregations, urging immediate and practical improvements.
Mr. Aamir Ishtiaq, Director Planning and Development, presented a detailed master plan of the university. The President directed the development of a comprehensive mosque design with a thorough impact assessment, stressing that improving campus facilities and community welfare are top priorities.
Dr. Inam ul Haq praised the President’s proactive approach and commitment to addressing infrastructural issues with practical solutions.
At the Student Facilitation Centre, Dr. alAhmed was welcomed by Vice President (Academics, Administration and Finance), Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, and Director Academics, Syed Naveed Ehtisham. He toured various sections, including those handling overseas students’ affairs and examinations, and engaged with employees and students.
The President highlighted student-centric governance as a core aspect of his leadership vision. He called for the full digitization of records across departments, with the Vice President noting that the E-Office system’s implementation is halfway complete.
Dr. alAhmed also stressed the need to improve on-campus facilities, such as introducing more reputable food chains for students and visitors. He instructed officials to address student-related issues promptly and encouraged staff to communicate openly with him, offering suggestions or reporting concerns.
