Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023: In anticipation of the forthcoming sports gala at International Islamic University (IIUI), the Students Advisor office orchestrated the shirts allocation ceremony, which included 11 faculties of the university, according to a press release from IIUI. The event saw the participation of Students Advisor male Dr. Ghufran Ahmed, Incharge Sports Ch. Muhammad Khalid, sports focal persons from the 11 faculties, and student representatives. Colors were assigned to the faculties through a draw and corresponding shirts were distributed by the Students Advisor, symbolizing an enthralling precursor to the Annual Sports Gala slated to begin on October 18, Wednesday, at the male Campus.

The Annual Sports Gala, organized by the sports section of the Directorate of Students’ Affairs, is set to be a display of prowess with approximately 1000 male students from 11 faculties participating. The plethora of events that will unfold at the gala encompasses a wide range of sports competitions, including tug of war, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, chess, and various athletic competitions. Students, having undergone trials within their respective faculties, are poised to demonstrate their abilities in the upcoming gala.

A noteworthy highlight will be the sports gala’s opening ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, October 18 at 9:30 am at the hardball cricket ground. This inaugural event is anticipated to be graced by high-profile guests, including the President of IIUI, marking a vibrant commencement to a series of sports activities designed to showcase and celebrate the athletic talents of the university’s student body.
