IIUI Hosts International Webinar on HOX Genes’ Role in Glioblastoma

Islamabad: The Department of Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), recently organized an international webinar titled “Roles of HOX genes in Glioblastoma.” This event is part of the university’s ongoing initiative to enhance knowledge and promote academic discussion in the field of Molecular Biology.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the webinar featured Dr. Diki, M.Ed., from Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia, as the guest speaker. The event attracted over one hundred participants, including students, faculty, and researchers, creating a dynamic platform for academic exchange. Dr. Diki’s discussion highlighted potential advances in brain cancer treatment stemming from research into HOX genes.

The Chairman of the Department of Biological Sciences, Prof. Dr. Asif Mir, expressed gratitude to all attendees and speakers for their contributions to the successful webinar. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Sobia Tabassum announced a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding between Universitas Terbuka and IIUI, aiming to foster continued collaboration in research that could benefit both institutions.
