Islamabad: The Vice Chancellor of Government College University, Hyderabad, Dr. Amjad Ali Arain, met with Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), to discuss opportunities for academic collaboration between the two institutions.
During the meeting at IIUI’s new campus, Dr. Amjad Ali Arain expressed his ongoing connection with the university, reflecting on his past role as a faculty member. He provided an overview of Government College University, Hyderabad’s history, noting its establishment in 1917 and subsequent elevation to university status.
The dialogue centered around advancing education and fostering academic partnerships. Both leaders identified potential areas for cooperation, including research initiatives, faculty exchanges, and collaborative curriculum development.
Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed shared IIUI’s strategic plan, detailing future academic goals and the university’s commitment to quality education. He highlighted recent expansions at IIUI, such as new infrastructure, library facilities, and advancements in curriculum, particularly in fields like nano science and business technology.
The Vice Chancellor of Government College University expressed interest in formalizing a partnership through a memorandum of understanding, focusing on faculty and student exchange programs. This proposal was positively received by the IIUI President, signaling the beginning of a collaborative relationship between the two institutions.
