IIUI and Anti-Narcotics Force Collaborate on Drug Awareness Initiatives

Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has pledged to work closely with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to address the pressing issue of drug abuse through educational awareness initiatives. This collaboration was solidified during a recent meeting between IIUI President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, and Deputy Commander North ANF, Col. Raheel, highlighting the importance of academia’s role in combating narcotics.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the meeting underscored the significant influence teachers have as societal role models. Brigadier Raheel commended IIUI’s proactive measures to create a drug-free environment on campus, suggesting it as a model for other educational institutions. Prof. Dr. Syed reiterated the university’s dedication to drug prevention, emphasizing the integration of Islamic values in student development to foster responsible societal contributions.

The session, attended by IIUI Vice President Dr. Abdul Rehman, Students’ Advisor Dr. Ghufran Ali, and the Chief Security Officer, focused on enhancing awareness campaigns and implementing preventative strategies against drug use. In a practical demonstration of their collaborative efforts, IIUI hosted a comprehensive drug awareness program at its new campus. This event, part of the Drug Demand Reduction Campaign, included activities designed to educate both students and staff about the dangers of substance abuse.

The program featured interactive sessions, awareness stalls by ANF, and speeches from key officials, including the Regional Commander of ANF North. The event also included a drug awareness walk, all of which aimed to engage participants and provide meaningful insights into substance abuse prevention.
