The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is an established nationwide initiative, funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and overseen by the Council.
The Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme maintains a competitive edge, boasting an average success rate of 18% over the last five years. Awardees within the program are celebrated for displaying the potential to become influential research leaders on a global scale.
Course Level: Masters, PhD
Subject(s): Any eligible subject offered by the university.
Grants: The value of the scholarship will be up to a maximum of Euro 28,000 per annum in any approved year and will consist of the following:
A stipend of Euro 19,000 per annum;
A contribution to fees, including non-EU fees, up to a maximum of Euro 5,750 per annum;
Eligible direct research expenses of Euro 3,250 per annum.
Eligibility criteria: Open for international students globally.
In cases where applicants’ undergraduate examination results are not available during the application phase, the Council might extend a provisional scholarship offer under the condition that the scholar’s bachelor’s degree outcome is either a first-class or an upper second-class honor.
Eligibility criteria include holding a bachelor’s degree for applying to a master’s program and having a master’s degree for those seeking to apply for a PhD program.
