Lahore: Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) Lahore launched a capacity-building program aimed at enhancing university management, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The inaugural ceremony, held on November 11, 2024, marked the beginning of a five-day workshop.
Dr. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) at the HEC, attended as the chief guest, alongside Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, who served as the Patron-in-Chief.
Prof. Gondal welcomed Dr. Malik and highlighted the significance of continuous learning for institutional improvement. He expressed gratitude to HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and Dr. Malik for integrating FJMU into this initiative.
Dr. Malik encouraged participants to maximize the training’s benefits and share their acquired knowledge. She commended Prof. Gondal for his leadership and FJMU’s international presence. The NAHE routinely conducts such programs for faculty and staff at higher education institutions across Pakistan.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Principal FJMC Prof. Abdul Hameed and other key academic leaders. Prof. Ashfaq Ahmad from Punjab University acted as the Chief Facilitator. The program targets managerial, administrative, and faculty staff to improve educational performance.
An honorary shield was presented to Dr. Malik by Prof. Gondal as a token of appreciation. This program represents a step towards fostering excellence in higher education management.
