Karachi, The initial ten days of Dhul Hijjah are observed with great reverence within the Islamic community, recognized for their profound spiritual significance and the auspicious opportunities they offer for worship and reflection.
According to Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, these days are heralded in Hadith and the Quran as the most virtuous of the year. A notable Hadith by Abu Hurairah (RA) cites the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) valuing these days above all others, encouraging the faithful to engage deeply with their faith through fasting, especially on the day of Arafah, charity, and recitations of Takbeer and Tahleel. Additionally, the act of Qurbani, or ritual sacrifice, marks the culmination of this period on the 10th day, aligning with Eid-al-Adha.
Historically, these days are also significant for having witnessed pivotal moments such as the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son, the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) final pilgrimage, and the conquest of Makkah. These events underscore the days’ importance and inspire Muslims globally to renew their spiritual commitments and seek closeness to Allah.
