DSA (FC) holds Investiture Ceremony of IIUI Female Students’ Societies

Islamabad, May 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with elections of students’ societies organized by the Directorate of Students’ Affairs (DSA), the first investiture ceremony of the newly elected executive body members of each society was held at Female campus. Prof Dr. Samina Malik, Vice-President of Female Campus was the Chief Guest. It was also joined by the presence of Focal persons/Departmental Student Advisors of the Student Societies and chairpersons of the departments.

Addressing the oath taking ceremony participants, Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, Vice President of Female Campus congratulated the newly elected cabinet members of the societies and advised the students to work with responsibility and honesty and urged to uphold these honourable positions with integrity.

On the occasion, Dr. Samina expressed her views that how becoming members of the Executive body students learn about maintaining discipline, interacting with peers and helping their fellow students. Vice President, FC also emphasized on societies’ leadership to play role to bring more progress in IIUI. She encouraged the students to work hard towards their respective societies and focus on the diligence of punctuality, discipline, and planning activities that would be beneficial for the entire students.

Addressing the members of the Executive body of the societies Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Students’ Advisor, Female campus emphasized the need for the students to be responsible citizens and assume their leadership roles to make a revolutionary change in society. She appreciated the students while also commending the focal persons for providing the students with the right academic atmosphere, guidance, and mentorship. She hoped that students would faithfully execute their duties as members of the societies and devote themselves to the pursuit of knowledge and truth, in order to become contributing members of the society.

The elected members of societies pledged to perform their duties with honesty and commitment following the core values of International Islamic University. The focal persons of each society awarded the sashes to the elected members of their respective society, which the latter received with immense pride and diligence. Pledge had been taken against four positions of each society i.e. President, Vice-President, Information and Media Secretary and Finance Secretary.

Oath of members of Entrepreneurial society was taken by Dr. Sidra Al Hassan, oath of Debating society was taken by Dr. Sonia Irum, Islamian Youth Forum by Dr. Faryal Ambreen, Career counselling society by Dr. Rabia Mushtaq, Community welfare society by Dr. Sadia Nawaz, Art society by Ms. Attia Abrar, Green Youth Movement by Dr. Sara Amir, Society of Science, Technology and Innovation was taken by Dr. Rabia Malik,, Recreational Society by Dr. Sabahat Jalil, Sports society by Ms. Nadia Mukhtar, Iqra Readers ‘society by Dr. Yasmeen Akhtar and photographic and Video Graph society by Ms. Aniqa Ali.

Dr Summiya said that the objective of the ceremony was to encourage students to become responsible pupils and help full citizens in the society. She opined that the Investiture Ceremony is a solemn occasion where students are bestowed with the leadership role, which they are expected to carry out with responsibility and dedication.
