Dr. Zahid Munir Presents Travelogue to Punjab Chief Minister, Highlighting Pakistani-Italian Cultural Ties

LAHORE, Prof Dr. Zahid Munir Amir, Director of the Punjab University Urdu Development and Translation Centre, presented his travelogue, ‘Italy an Italian Odyssey’, to Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting marked a significant cultural exchange, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and Italy.

According to a press release by the University of the Punjab, the travelogue is a pioneering effort to bridge the cultural and civilizational gap between Pakistan and Italy. Dr. Amir’s work explores the connections in Urdu literature found in Italy, making them accessible to Pakistani readers. This is the first book in history jointly published by an Italian university and a Pakistani university, as mentioned by Rector of the University of Naples, Prof Dr. Roberto Totoli.

Prof. Totoli expressed hope that this publication would foster closer ties between the two countries and pave the way for new avenues of scientific research and communication. The travelogue symbolizes the shared human sentiments across different cultures and is expected to play a vital role in enhancing mutual understanding between Pakistani and Italian societies.
