Dow University Highlights Quaid-e-Azam’s Guidelines in Independence Day Ceremony

Karachi: During the Independence Day celebrations, Professor Muhammad Saeed Qureshi, Vice Chancellor of Dow University of Health Sciences, emphasized the relevance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles—unity, faith, and organization—in today’s Pakistan. The event was marked by a flag hoisting and the collective rendition of the National Anthem.

According to Dow University of Health Sciences, the ceremony attracted significant participation from the university community, including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazli Hussain and other notable faculty members. Professor Qureshi highlighted the historical sacrifices made during the partition of the subcontinent and urged current students to dedicate themselves to their studies and strive for excellence in their respective fields, in line with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision for the nation.

Further remarks were made by Principal Dow International Medical College, Prof. Iftikhar Ahmed, who reflected on the profound sacrifices that led to Pakistan’s independence. He stressed the importance of appreciating the freedoms won through such sacrifices. The ceremony also included contributions from Professor Sambal Shamim of Dow College of Pharmacy, who spoke about the ongoing plantation campaigns at the university, aimed at creating environmental sustainability.

The day’s events also featured a cultural parade, an exhibition of Independence Day-themed photographs, and a video presentation on the Palestine issue, emphasizing the importance of national unity. The ceremony concluded with a quiz for the faculty, with Vice Chancellor Qureshi awarding prizes to the participants.
