Babar Azam Resigns as Pakistan’s White-Ball Captain to Focus on Batting

Lahore: Babar Azam has resigned as the captain of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket team, a move confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday. His decision comes with an aim to enhance his contributions to the team as a batsman. The PCB has now initiated the process of selecting a new captain as part of a broader strategy to refine the national team’s approach to white-ball cricket.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Babar’s resignation was accepted with recognition of his intent to focus more intensively on his batting skills, which he believes will be more beneficial for the team’s performance in limited-overs cricket. The PCB lauded Babar’s leadership qualities and his dedication to the national team during his tenure as captain, which spanned an impactful five years.
