The President’s PhD Scholarships allow students to undertake a research project of their choosing with the support of an excellent supervisor, alongside cohort-building opportunities with other President’s PhD Scholars.

The President’s PhD Scholarships at Imperial College London offer exceptional undergraduate and Master’s students a remarkable opportunity to pursue a fully funded 3.5-year PhD program at one of the world’s renowned research institutions.

This prestigious scholarship not only covers tuition fees but also provides a substantial stipend, allowing students to focus on their chosen research projects under the guidance of esteemed mentors. Grants: Full funding for tuition fees

A stipend of £25,150 (2024-25 rate) per annum to assist with living costs

A consumables fund of £2,000 per annum for the first 3 years of study

Eligibility criteria:

There are no nationality restrictions, ensuring that candidates from all countries are eligible to apply.

The scholarship supports both full-time and part-time study options, providing flexibility to suit individual academic paths.

The institution actively encourages applications from candidates representing diverse backgrounds.

Eligible candidates should have already completed or be in the process of completing an undergraduate or integrated Master’s degree with a first-class or equivalent distinction.

For those who have not yet finished their Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree, they must demonstrate outstanding academic performance indicating their potential to achieve a distinction in a standalone Master’s program.

The program exclusively considers new applications from prospective PhD candidates and does not include individuals who are already enrolled as PhD students at Imperial College. · All candidates undergo assessment based on their academic excellence and research potential. To be eligible, candidates must have contacted a supervisor and received confirmation of their support for research work.
