MPhil Applied Linguistics takes Ismail Ali Mohammad to Palestinian Presidential Guard military forces

Lahore, September 01, 2023 (PPI-OT): Ismail Ali Mohammad Aldwaimer recognised the demand for proficient linguists in the Palestinian job market who could bring innovative teaching methodologies to the domain of English language education. His aspiration to make a difference in the field of linguistics led him to choose a Master of Philosophy in Applied Linguistics and BS Honours in English Language and Communication from The University of Lahore (UOL).

Aldwaimer’s educational journey started in 2014 when he enrolled at UOL to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) Honours in English Language and Communication. After completing his BS, the thirst for knowledge and personal growth drove him to continue his academic journey with an MPhil in Applied Linguistics from the same university.

This educational milestone expanded his horizons and provided him with a deeper understanding regarding the impact of language on various aspects of life, including society and politics. While pursuing his degrees, Aldwaimer not only embraced academic challenges but also overcame personal and cultural barriers as an international student.

The journey was not without its difficulties, but his determination and the support of UOL’s international society made him feel at home. His engagement in the international society enabled him to become its president, equipping him with leadership and planning skills, and decision-making abilities that continue to serve him in his current career.

His dedication and academic excellence caught the attention of the Palestinian Presidential Guard military forces, where he is now serving as a translator, international coordinator, and critical discourse analyst. His linguistics expertise and analytical skills contribute significantly to the military’s operations and engagements on the global stage.

Aldwaimer’s journey from a foreign student to a valuable asset within his nation’s security apparatus is a testament to the profound impact of quality education. Looking ahead, his dreams extend even further. With aspirations of pursuing a PhD in Liberal Arts, he is committed to continuous learning and growth, driven by his desire to contribute more effectively to society and the world at large.
